Purchase of Property at Tax Sales

Purchasers of properties at Tax Sales should be aware of Georgia law which states that a Tax Sale by a county is VOID and DOES NOT CONVEY TITLE TO A PURCHASER where the prior owner is deceased at the time of the Tax Sale. Ayer et al v. Chapman, 146 Ga. 608.
